The history of the city is full of spiritual. Lahore was the capital of numerous empires, dynasties, kings: from Persian art, Mughal time, Sikh period, British colony affection till modern time. Architecture of its amazing. Thanks to foreigner investments and government support there are some unique monuments are alive: Lahore Fort and Shalimar Gardens (its under UNESCO protection from 1980), Jahangir Tomb. As a result we can see nowadays  Lahore like incredibly colorful, noisy, majestic, full of smells of flowers and food, fragrant, with gardens, water channels, unique architecture.

During two days you will fall in love with Lahore!

According to the program also you will have opportunity to look at unique ancient Hindu-Buddha complex in Kallar Kahar District – Katas Raj Temple (near 150 km from Islamabad) with spectacular pictures!

Itinerary

Day 1Katas Raj Temples - Lahore

☼ 8am – picking up from your guest house/hotel in Islamabad.
☼ Approximate 2 hours drive to Kallar Kahar, visiting Katas Raj Hindu Temples: historical records suggest that construction of the complex dates back to the 3rd century BC.
☼ Transfer to Lahore.
☼ Drive to Wagah to experience the lowering of the flags ceremony at the Wagah border: something you will never see elsewhere.
☼ Drive back to Lahore: visiting Lahore’s red light district, Heera Mandi Bazaar (it’s a full of cultural and historical significance place that dates back to the Mughal Empire. A few decades ago this place was famous for dancing and music. People used to go here for a visual and musical treat).
☼ Dinner at the Cooco’s Den restaurant in old Walled City with amazing view of Badshahi Mosque (built in 1671).
☼ Transfer to the hotel for th rest and night stay.

Day 2Lahore - Islamabad

☼ Breakfast.
☼ Excursion in Lahore:
– Mughal period of the city: Anarkali Bazaar, Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque, Shalimar Gardens, tomb of Jahangir – 17th century mausoleum built for the Mughal Emperor Jahangir;
– Sikh period: Gurdwara Dera Sahib temple, which commemorates the spot where the 5th guru of Sikhism, Guru Arjan Dev, died in 1606;
– a completely different experience, fantastic sightseeing of new and old Lahore through open roof double-decker bus.
☼ Dinner at local restaurant.
☼ Transfer back to Islamabad.
