In this tour you will have opportunity to look at unique ancient Peshawar – Peshawar’s recorded history dates back to at least 539 BCE, making it the oldest city in Pakistan and one of the oldest cities in the world.
The famous Khawani Bazaar with Peshawari qawa, numerous old mosques and hospitality of Pashtun people. As addition we will visit also old (46 year AD) tantra Buddha monastery in Mardan district.
☼ 8am – picking up from your guest house/hotel in Islamabad.
☼ Approximate 2 hours drive to Peshawar.
☼ Attractions in Peshawar: Bala Hisar, a 18th-century historic fortress (open for public only on Saturday-Sunday with prior permission from relevant authorities), Qasim Ali Khan Mosque (17th-century mosque ), Mahabat Khan Mosque (17th-century Mughal-era mosque), Sunehri Masjid, the famous Qissa Khwani Bazaar and Sethi Haveli (1884).
☼ Dinner at local restaurant with traditional food.
☼ Transfer to the guest house for the rest and night stay.
☼ Drive to Takht-i-Bahi, Mardan district.
☼ Visiting the Buddhist Tantra Monastery in Takht-i-Bahi village (meaning – throne of origins), was founded in 46 AD.
☼ Lunch at local restaurant with traditional food.
